Engineering Interfaces Theme Seminar & Network Launch

First RRUK Theme Seminar and Network Launch : 9th November 2004

Theme A (Engineering Interfaces) held their iaugural Theme Seminar and Network Launch on Tuesday 9th November 2004 at IMechE in London.

The aims of the seminar were to:

• launch formally the Theme Network and begin to disseminate details of our research in progress to wider audiences;
• involve actively in RRUK business to those currently outside the core RRUK universities.

The level of support from the participants was most encouraging, with over 40 representatives from academic and industry bodies attending.  The Engineering Interfaces Theme Network is a forum for cooperation and collaboration between RRUK researchers and others in industry or academia who have a relevant interest, knowledge or ability in the area of Engineering Interfaces.  The onus is now upon the Engineering Interfaces team to develop the Network and build on the interest and good will that was generated.

Further events will be planned for next year.
